BCCIE is excited to welcome Nele Tinck as our new Senior Manager of Events and Stakeholder Engagement. Nele comes to us from BCIT’s School of Business and Media where she was most recently the International Programs Advisor. In her new role, Nele will be responsible for BCCIE’s professional development and sector capacity building events as well as our programs and services focused on interculturalization, Indigenization and reconciliation. She will also be overseeing BCCIE’s mentorship program.
After 11 years, we are sad to announce Colin Doerr will be leaving BCCIE at the end of this month to pursue new opportunities. During his time at BCCIE, Colin has been instrumental in leading and growing our Latin America and China portfolios.
In Mexico, he established key relationships with higher education institutions for future collaborations with BC institutions. Recently, Colin led a fall partnership initiative to Mexico in which 45 partnership meetings took place, and two MOUs signed.
Closer to home, Colin oversaw the APAIE conference in Vancouver and its transition from an in-person event to a hybrid event in 2021 with grace.
“The work Colin has done for BCCIE is second to none, says Randall Martin, Executive Director at BCCIE. On a personal level, our team will miss Colin’s enthusiasm and warmth around the office. We wish him every success on his next chapter.”
During this transition, EJ Brin will be moving into the role of Acting Director, External Relations.
