The BC Council for International Education (BCCIE) welcomes two new members to its Board of Directors. BCCIE’s 11-member Board of Directors oversees the organization’s mandate in advancing the international education interests of the government and people of British Columbia. With diverse experience in education, Dr. Jason Dewling and Dr. Pedro Márquez bring valuable insight and experience to the BCCIE Board.

Dr. Jason Dewling is the President of Western Canada and Asia Pacific at LCI Education Network. He began his career in 2000 at Alberta’s Lakeland College as an Instructor of University Studies, Human Services, and Health and Wellness. His first leadership role for the organization was an Associate Dean. After three years in a leading role, he became Vice-President of Academic and Research of Olds College. In 2017, he joined LCI Education and became the president of LaSalle College in Vancouver. As President of Western Canada and Asia Pacific, Jason oversees campuses in Vancouver, Istanbul, Melbourne, and Indonesia, as well as two language schools. His has a PhD is in Education from the University of Alberta.

Dr. Perdo Márquez is the is the Vice-President Research and International at Royal Roads University and professor of Strategic Management and International Business. Born in Campeche, Mexico, he obtained his undergraduate degree in Commerce at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de Mexico and both a Master’s degree in Political Science and Doctorate degree in Business and Political Science at the University of Calgary. Pedro returned to Mexico as dean and department head at the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) business school in Mexico City where he managed a custom-designed executive education program for CEMEX, delivered through a partnership between ITESM, Stanford University, and INSEAD. In 2007 he joined Royal Roads University as dean of the Faculty of Management and was appointed Vice-President in 2015.
