Funding Opportunity for Research Institutions in Partnership with Brazil

CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), a Brazilian Federal Government agency which plays a fundamental role in the expansion and consolidation of stricto sensu (master's and doctorate) postgraduate courses in all states of the Brazilian Federation launched its new program called CAPES/PrInt.

The main objective is to foster the establishment of international research networks integrated by Brazilian higher education institutions by promoting the international mobility of Brazilian professors, researchers and postgraduate students. To participate in the selection, Brazilian institutions must have at least four postgraduate programs recommended by CAPES and at least two Doctorate courses.

This program will financially support Institutional Project for Internationalization of Brazilian Institutions. Proposals must be submitted and registered on the CAPES website by Brazilian institutions, until May 10, 2018.

For BC research institutions that already have agreements and/or partnerships with Brazilian universities, it is highly recommended to contact your existing partners about this opportunity. This is a list of the 50 best-ranked institutions for research that would match the prerequisites of the new program.

The Brazil-Canada Education Team will also approach key universities in different regions of Brazil in order to inquire about their interest in participating in the CAPES PrInt program.

Deadline: May 10, 2018
