Study Travel Magazine announces 2014 Star Award winners
STM Star Awards 2014 winners announced
The study travel industry gathered in style at London’s Hilton on Park Lane Hotel at the weekend to celebrate peer-voted excellence in service at the prestigious Study Travel Magazine Star Awards 2014.
With study travel agents voting for their school and service provider partners and vice versa, the STM Star Awards are a unique, industry-wide recognition of service, covering 23 categories. The awards were presented by Nicola Hancox, the Editor of Study Travel Magazine, during a special gala dinner. “The STM Star Awards are the glamorous highlight of the social calendar in the study travel industry,” said Hancox. “Around 800 leading industry figures and company directors were in attendance, dressed up for a fabulous night of dinner and dancing.”
Two winners were inducted into the STM Star Awards Super Star Hall of Fame this year, an honour bestowed upon five-time winners in an individual category: Twin Group UK in the Star Work Experience Provider category; and Experimento of Brazil for the Star Agency Latin America award. “Becoming a Super Star means so much,” said Jacqui Fox, Managing Director of Twin Group. “Work experience was how we started the business, our first steps into the international arena. We are very passionate about work experience and the contribution it makes. To win this at the start of the industry marketing season is great, people appreciate what it means.”
There were also three Canadian-based winners: Bodwell High School, Sol Schools International and International Language Schools of Canada – all won under the education/service provider category.
The STM Star Awards 2014 was sponsored by English language testing provider Ielts, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Voting for the STM Star Awards 2015 will commence in February.
