Recording Available: Advancing BC and Mexico Higher Education Dialogue Event
On February 16, Global Affairs Canada and BCCIE hosted a special virtual event that brought together representatives from BC and Mexico to explore Indigenous opportunities for partnership, collaboration and learning.
The morning plenary spanned two hours and saw 215 participants in attendance. For the afternoon B2B session, 32 institutional bilateral meetings were held over a five-hour period. The event provided an opportunity for BC and Mexico institutions, educators, faculty and international liaison administrators to explore and strengthen Indigenous programming and initiatives, and forge international cooperation and partnerships. A key takeaway from the event included a better understanding of colonial history and how institutions can move towards a more equitable position where they can promote values that support Indigenous learning, pedagogy and alliances.
BCCIE would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in this important dialogue event.
