BCCIE announces Memorandum of Understanding with university consortium in Rio de Janeiro
New opportunities in Brazil for BC institutions
The Canadian Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil recently hosted a number of Canadian and Brazilian post-secondary institutions in recognition of the development and growth of International Education cooperation. The event included the signing of a number of important Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) between Canadian and Brazilian institutions and organizations.
BCCIE was one of the signatories that formalized cooperation with the Network of International Offices of Rio de Janeiro Higher Education Institutions (REARI-RJ).
REARI-RJ is comprised of a network of international offices of 11 higher education institutions in the State of Rio de Janeiro. REARI-RJ’s mandate is to serve its member institutions in developing international cooperation activities that address advancement in teaching, research and administration.
The purpose of BCCIE’s MOU signing with REARI-RJ is to strengthen and advance cooperation between BC institutions and the 11 Brazilian member institutions. The MOU focuses on a range of activities and initiatives that will support existing cooperation while forging new links of collaboration.
BCCIE looks forward to supporting this network as it seeks to establish productive engagement throughout the education sector in BC.
