Webinar | Education Market Briefing: Mexico & Colombia
With a combined population exceeding 175 million, Mexico and Colombia represent approximately 2.3% of the global population. While Colombia is an emerging market for British Columbia, Mexico has been a long-standing source for international students. Both have expressed continued interest in maintaining and strengthening ties with Canada.
Join our webinar to learn more about the education landscape and partnership opportunities in these dynamic and evolving countries.
BCCIE recognizes the emergence of Colombia as a source market for BC K-12 schools, post-secondary institutions and language schools. While the Council has yet to spearhead its first Team BC Mission to Colombia, it seeks to support its stakeholders as they engage in this market.
In support of BC’s International Education sector, BCCIE recently announced a coordinated Team BC Mexico Mission from October 2–11, 2018. This initiative followed a successful engagement undertaken in 2017 where relationships were established and strategic links were pursued with education agents and networks, schools, universities, institutions, and state and federal agencies. Furthermore, the annual BCCIE Summer Conference welcomed the participation of two national higher education associations (AMPEI and CUMex), one state government agency (EDUCAFIN), and three universities (University of Celaya, Autonomous University of Guerrero, Autonomous University of Sinaloa). These are examples of the commitment between BC and Mexico to continue to forge strong ties.
In advance of the upcoming ICEF Latin America Workshop, EduCanada Fairs in Colombia, and the Team BC Mexico Mission in October, BCCIE invites you to join Sarah Mines, Director of ICEF Canada and Lexie Axel-Berg, Head of Client Partnerships, Hotcourses (Canada) in a webinar where they will reveal the latest data, developments, and trends for international student recruitment from Mexico and Colombia.
During this webinar, attendees will:
- be given a market overview, including where students live, what subjects they are interested in and what study level they are looking at for recruitment to Canada,
- receive data and statistics to help guide decision making,
- gain insight into agent market.
The session will provide attendees with the information needed to develop a marketing and recruitment strategy that can lead to increased diversity and student numbers from Mexico and Colombia.
