UMAP Canada – Mexico Virtual Networking and Partnership Development Event
The UMAP Canada National Secretariat and the Mexico National Secretariat are pleased to organize a virtual networking and partnership development event for UMAP member institutions from both countries. This event aims to facilitate connections among member institutions, enhance knowledge of participating institutions, and strengthen collaboration for future initiatives. The event will also feature:
- Updates from the UMAP International Secretariat on scholarships, programs, and other opportunities.
- A presentation by a faculty member from Douglas College sharing his experience leveraging the UMAP network to enhance international collaboration with partners from Colombia and other regions.
Following these presentations, participants will engage in virtual breakout room discussions to explore potential collaborations further. Both administrative staff working at international offices and faculty members are welcome to attend this event.
Key takeaways:
- Learn about UMAP’s scholarship offerings and best practices of leveraging UMAP to support your own internationalization strategy.
- Meet with UMAP Mexican member institutions to get to know each other, learn about their institutions and programs available for Canadian students.
- Identify common interest and build connections with UMAP Mexican member institutions for future collaborations (field schools, COIL program and etc).
Registration is required as spots are limited. If you are interested in attending, please complete the Expression of Interest form by September 26.
Please note: if your institution is not yet a member of UMAP and would like to join, please send your inquiry to umap@bccie.bc.ca for more information.
