Team BC Korea Mission
Event Overview:
BCCIE will once again coordinate a series of value-added events for brand eligible BC institutions that will be tied to the Canada Education Fair (CEF) in Seoul on November 13 and 14.
Details of the Mission and available value-added events will be forthcoming. The Canada Education Fair 2015 in Seoul will target all sectors including K-12, post-secondary and language training. This stand-alone Canada-only fair is designed to cover many different angles of the market, and allow Canadian institutional representatives to reach out to potential students and parents, as well as educational agents and institutional representatives. In 2014, CEF showcased 69 Canadian institutions and successfully attracted 2,400 visitors during the two-day fair.
CEF 2015 in Seoul builds on last year’s event and consists of a series of activities including: direct student recruitment, B2B meetings with agents and school representatives, public presentations, workshops, market briefing and networking receptions. During this two-day long fair, visitors will be able to meet one-on-one with Canadian institution representatives, attend presentation sessions and learn more about the educational opportunities in Canada. A professional PR firm will be hired to ensure maximum exposure for the event, as well as to attract highly-qualified visitors that are seriously considering studying abroad.
Market Overview:
Korea is the 3rd largest source of international students in Canada and has been in the top 3 for more than ten years. While the local economy, exchange rates and government policies are changing rapidly and currently present challenges to Korea's international education market, young Koreans continue to be interested in international education opportunities. Many students and parents are interested in opportunities to study abroad, and there remain significant opportunities for Canadian players to increase their share of this key market.
CEF 2015 in Seoul will be an excellent opportunity to showcase the quality of Canadian educational institutions and help Korean students and parents understand what they can achieve by choosing Canada as a study destination.
