UMAP Canada & ASEAN-SEED Scholarship Facilitated Networking

In collaboration with UMAP International Secretariat and BCCIE, UMAP Canada invites you to attend an information session where we will introduce a variety of financial resources available for students who are seeking studying abroad opportunities. This session will provide facilitated introductions between UMAP member institutions in Canada and the ASEAN region to forge bilateral partnerships for the Global Affairs Canada ASEAN-SEED Scholarship.

Agenda:

• Introduction of BC Scholarship Society (note: only BC institutions are eligible for these scholarships)
• Introduction of UMAP Canada Scholarship
• Introduction of ASEAN-SEED scholarship (details included below) and how to leverage through UMAP membership
• Facilitated introductions with ASEAN UMAP members to build bilateral connections

The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year. Canadian post-secondary institutions must apply online on behalf of eligible candidates.

Global Affairs Canada is offering scholarships for students from member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to conduct short-term study or research in Canadian post-secondary institutions in areas that contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. SEED contributes to strengthening people-to-people ties between Canada and the Indo-Pacific region. As part of the expansion of the SEED program under Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, Global Affairs Canada is increasing the number of scholarships that it will be awarding to students from the ASEAN region.

• Funding organization: Global Affairs Canada
• Target audiences: Canadian post-secondary institutions 
• Duration: 4 to 8 months
• Inclusions: airfare, select living expenses, health insurance, visa or study/work permit fees, and other eligible expenses
• Deadline: March 21, 2024
