2024 Inter-Regional Research Symposium (IRRS)
The 2024 Inter-Regional Research Symposium (IRRS) will be hosted by SEAMEO RIHED at the Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand, on 20-22 November 2024.
This year’s theme ‘Transforming Higher Education: Towards Sustainable Development’ will provide an exceptional opportunity for participants to stay up to date with progress and engage in important discussions focused on addressing regional and global goals towards transformative and sustainable higher education.
The IRRS, first held in 2019 and now convened biennially, attracts policymakers, directors of regional and international organisations, senior academic staff, higher education researchers, practitioners, and lifelong learners as well as other stakeholders in higher education from across Asia, North America, and Europe to bridge knowledge gaps, foster the co-creation of knowledge and collective intelligence, and facilitate regional policy dialogue and solutions towards a more sustainable future.
In today’s rapidly evolving higher education landscape, marked by rapid technological advancements and global challenges, the imperative for transformation has never been more pressing. The 2024 IRRS aims to address this need by fostering discussions on reshaping learning paradigms, embracing digital transformation, and advancing Sustainable Development. With a schedule packed with keynotes, interactive sessions, exhibition spaces, social events, networking opportunities, and more, the 2024 IRRS is a must-attend higher education event in Southeast Asia.
The Call for Abstracts is now open!
We are inviting all interested researchers and practitioners to submit your abstracts for the chance to present at the 2024 IRRS in Bangkok, Thailand on 20-22 November 2024.
Aligned with the overarching theme of the 2024 IRRS on Transforming Higher Education: Towards Sustainable Development, submissions are encouraged along three key tracks:
- Digital Sustainability: Navigating Digital Transformation in Higher Education (exploring the integration of digital technologies, including artificial intelligence, into higher education; discussions on AI’s impact on curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and quality assurance; and addressing the ethical and sustainable aspects of digitalisation in learning environments).
- Flexible Pathways: Fostering Lifelong Learning (delving into innovative approaches to lifelong learning and the recognition of micro-credentials; examining the role of industry-academia collaboration in promoting flexible learning pathways; and evaluating the impact of micro-credentials and other learning innovations on learning journeys and career advancement).
- Climate Action: Advancing a Sustainable Future through Higher Education (highlighting higher education’s contribution to climate action and environmental stewardship; discussing curricular integration for sustainability and campus sustainability initiatives; and exploring collaborative partnerships to address sustainability challenges at the community level).
Attendees can join other higher education experts from around the world in Bangkok and be part of the discussion that is shaping the transformation of regional and international higher education.
