BC youth transformed by Beijing Summer Camp
25 high school students and chaperones from across British Columbia participated in the 10-day Beijing International Student Summer Camp in China from July 14 – 23. Every year, a selection of BC students are invited to participate in the educational camp to gain exposure to a new culture and act as ambassadors of the province.
During the trip, they visited the historic landmarks, such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, as well as modern sites, including the Water Cube, the Bird Nest, and the Silk Market. The organizer, Beijing International Education Exchange Centre, also prepared various cultural courses to enrich participants’ experiences. About 800 campers from 33 countries participated in the summer camp in Beijing this year.
