Addressing racism is an essential skill when supporting long-term transformative change in individuals, organizations, and communities. Join us for this online content-rich and highly interactive three-part series.
Each session includes a guest speaker sharing relevant case studies and stories pertaining to addressing racism, followed by constructive and feasible steps you can apply in your own context. There are opportunities for questions with Jessie and our guest speakers with follow-up resources after each call.

Part 1: Addressing Racism Within Ourselves
Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 @ 11:00 am Pacific
In our first session, you will learn the essential skills for addressing racism within yourself effectively.
Joining us as our special guests will be Elder Larry Grant from Musqueam First Nations who will share Musqueam teachings about addressing racism.
In addition, we’ll speak with Dr. Michael Quinn Patton who will share how reflective learning practices can address racism within ourselves and the systems we influence to create lasting change.
You will gain practical skills to address racism within yourself and the systems you influence.
Part 2: Addressing Racism As A Bystander
Wednesday, November 25th @ 11:00 am Pacific
In our second session, you will learn how to address racism as a bystander.
Joining us as our guest speaker will be Dr. Roberta Hunte. She’ll share her meaningful story about why bystander response is critical in addressing racism effectively. When you apply this learning, you’ll be able to helpfully and constructively intervene as a bystander when witnessing racist incidents.
Part 3: Addressing Racism As A Target
Wednesday, December 2nd @ 11:00 am Pacific
In our third session, you will learn about the impact of racism and build essential skills for addressing racism as a target.
Joining us as a special guest is Kathy Shecapio who will share provoking stories as well as her own powerful insights. You will gain fundamental skills to address racism when you are a target.
