Opportunity for BC schools to submit content for social media channels in China

Promote your school or institution in China: Invitation to submit content for Chinese social media platforms

Dear colleagues,

BCCIE through Grok Global Services (GGS) now offers BC public and independent K-12 schools, public and private EQA-designated post-secondary institutions and language schools an opportunity to promote their respective schools and institutions to potential students in China.

As part of our mandate to promote and enhance BC’s international reputation for education and to position the province as the education destination of choice for learners from around the globe, BCCIE has engaged GGS, a specialist education company operating in Beijing, to help manage its social media presence in China. This is done in part because many of the social media platforms popular in Canada are unavailable in China. Students use platforms native to China, e.g., Weibo and WeChat (search "BCCIE"), that collectively account for close to 1 billion monthly active users. We invite BC’s education sector to use BCCIE’s existing Weibo and WeChat accounts with the aim of increasing international awareness of BC as a high-quality education destination for students in China.

Submission of content

We are now accepting content from your school or institution to post on BCCIE’s Weibo and WeChat platforms. We strongly encourage including pictures or videos up to 10 MB (please submit videos as ZIP files). Consider the following content submission attributes:

  • Introduction to your institution with up to 5 key marketing points
  • Student and alumni profiles
  • Student activities in the classroom or on campus
  • Success in published rankings
  • Outstanding research projects and findings
  • Content that links study to positive employment outcomes
  • Upcoming events in China that prospective students can attend

Submissions in Chinese are preferred, and Grok will format these professionally and publish them at a time to maximize exposure. English content, up to 500 words, will be accepted; however, translation by Grok into Chinese will only be done time and capacity permitting. Postings will be done by Grok on a first-come, first-serve basis. Note that the submission deadline for this intake period is Monday, January 9.
