The BC Council for International Education (BCCIE) is pleased to welcome back Tanya Ogilvie as its Director, Operations and Communications. She returns to the position she held for eight years, as Jan Smith has moved on to an exciting appointment as Registrar at BCIT.

Back in her director role, Tanya will again be responsible for Board administration, government relations and operations, including human resources, information technology, facilities and contract management, strategic and operational planning, and Crown agency reporting.

“We wish Jan all the best in her new role at BCIT,” said Dr. Randall Martin, Executive Director, BCCIE. “And of course are delighted to welcome Tanya back to the team. There are several key projects and events underway at BCCIE, including our strategic planning process, the APAIE conference (March 27-31) and our first-ever BC International Education Week (June 26-29). Tanya’s return ensures there will be a seamless continuity in leadership and programming that our stakeholders have come to expect from BCCIE.”

Tanya has over 15 years of experience working in operations, stakeholder engagement, and communications in the public and not-for-profit sectors throughout BC as well as internationally. She grew up in Saskatoon and moved to BC after completing her Master’s degree at the University of Saskatchewan. Travelling is one of Tanya’s passions, having spent time living in China, Australia, and the UK. Her other passions include coaching, health and wellness, and her family. Tanya enjoys spending her free time outdoors at the beach, on the trails, or at a playground with her children Kayden and Alia, dog Lola, and her husband Josh.
