Webinar | Education Market Briefing: Indonesia, Vietnam and The Philippines
Diversification is a buzz word in nearly every institution recruitment office across Canada. The purpose of this webinar is to explore three countries in South East Asia which present institutions with the opportunity to grow and diversify.
Vietnam is characterised by its emerging middle-class population, with one-third of Vietnamese expected to be middle class by 2020, and 90% of their outbound student population self-funded.
The Philippines is a target market for many English-speaking destination countries due to the overall level of proficiency in the language. Through education system reforms in the past few years, Filipino students also have better access to international education opportunities as a result of K-12 reforms.
Indonesia is now one of the 20 largest economies in the world. The growing middle-class and rapid urbanisation are leading to the requirement for a well-educated workforce and more students are looking to go abroad to gain the skills and education they need to stay competitive in their country’s workforce.
In support of BC’s International Education sector, BCCIE is pleased to announce a coordinated BCCIE and Team BC Mission – Southeast Asia Fall 2018 Engagement taking place from October 3–23, 2018. This initiative will take place in the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia and will focus on building upon the relationships and strategic links that were established with education agents and networks, schools, universities, institutions, and with provincial and national agencies. The working itinerary includes attendance at EduCanada fairs, agent training, partnership development visits, and other value-added activities in established and emerging markets in Manila, Cebu, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Surabaya and Jakarta.
Join our webinar to learn more about the education landscape and partnership opportunities in these dynamic and evolving countries.
During this webinar, attendees will:
- Be given a market overview, including where students live, what subjects they are interested in and what study of level they are looking at for recruitment to Canada
- Receive data and statistics to help guide decision making
- Gain insight into agent market from IDP South East Asia offices
The session will be informative in nature and will provide attendees with the information needed to develop a marketing and recruitment strategy that will lead to increased diversity and student numbers from the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.
