The Embassy of Canada to Norway is organizing a Canada Pavilion at the Education and Career Fair in Lillestrøm (near Oslo) from January 6-8, 2014. The fair is the largest of its kind in Norway, and ranks as one of the most important in Europe. The 2013 fair attracted close to 20,000 young Norwegians looking for education opportunities.
The Embassy, as well as Canadian institutions who have participated in the past, are convinced that the fair is a tremendous opportunity to attract Norwegian students. Norway is an excellent market, and forecasts indicate that the number of Norwegians looking to study abroad will increase over the next few years. The Government of Norway’s generous support for studying abroad and its stated objective to increase the number of Norwegian students in Canada will be contributing factors.
Our goal is to organize a large open-area stand under the Imagine Education au/in Canada brand in 2014. Each participating university or college will have its own space within the Canada Pavilion.
The fair organizers are prepared to offer a special arrangement to the Embassy and participating Canadian institutions. The Embassy will register for a 9 square meter stand. For every Canadian institution participating, we will add 6 square meters to the area. The Embassy will pay for the registration fee covering all of the participants. This way, we can create a large Canada Pavilion, providing greater visibility for Canada and all participating institutions. Moreover, this arrangement provides a considerable cost-saving for each Canadian institution. The cost for each additional 6×2 meter stand will be approx. CAN$2900, which is almost half the price of a normal 9 square meter stand (approx. CAN$5100). Once we reach more than 39 square meters (e.g. Embassy plus 5 institutions) we will qualify for a more prominent location.
Along with your participation in the Canada Pavilion, you may also have the opportunity to take part in school visits and networking sessions with agents and guidance counselors (TBC).
The Embassy is also in close contact with other embassies active in education marketing in the region, and with sufficient lead-time, we can put you in touch with these offices for further outreach.
