2014 ELAP Extractive Industry Collaboration Mission
Within the framework of a Collaboration Mission, Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD) is pleased to offer Canadian institutions the opportunity to broaden their institutional partnerships and contacts with institutions in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru working in the extractive industry, specifically in the mining sector.
This Collaboration Mission, an integral element of the DFATD Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP), should foster the development of academic agreements that lead to increased bilateral student mobility. ELAP is a student exchange program that provides scholarships for recipients from Latin America and the Caribbean to study and conduct research in Canada for four to six months before returning to their home institution to complete their studies.
A delegation of 15-20 senior representatives from Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru will participate in a series of networking events and meetings to be held between March 31 and April 4, 2014 in the following cities:
- MONTREAL, Quebec (Tuesday, April 1)
- SUDBURY, Ontario (Wednesday, April 2)
- VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Friday, April 4)
The Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE) is organizing this event on behalf of DFATD. We invite institutions to participate in these networking events where you will be able to meet representatives from each of the countries.
Details on the location and time as well as a complete list of the delegation will be available soon. Please note Canadian participants are responsible for their travel expenses.
