BCCIE attends 51st annual CBIE Conference in Halifax

Approximately 850 international educators representing 30 countries gathered this week at the World Trade and Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia to share knowledge and help chart the future of international education in Canada.

The occasion was the 51st Annual CBIE Conference, a four-day event from November 19 to 22 that occurs annually in different cities across Canada. This year’s theme, Pathways in International Education: Charting the Course, highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to strengthen pathways and create opportunities in international education.

BCCIE attended the event to engage and share best case practices from British Columbia (BC). BC is known for its high-quality education system and is one of the top study destinations in Canada for international students.

Senior Manager, Internationalization & Market Support at BCCIE, Chelsey Laird co-led the session, Pathways to Intercultural Learning: Dialogue Towards a Re-Modelled Intercultural Competency Toolkit. The interactive session held in a World Café style format allowed participants to evolve their own Intercultural Competency training toolkit.
