Event Overview:
The Embassy of Canada in Seoul will organize a Canada Education Fair (CEF) in Seoul, targeting all sectors, including K-12, post-secondary and language training. This stand-alone, Canada-only fair is designed to cover many different angles of the market, and allow Canadian institutional representatives to reach out to potential students and parents, as well as educational agents and institutional representatives. The CEF 2014 showcased 69 Canadian institutions and successfully attracted 2,400 visitors during the two-day fair in which it was open to the public.
The CEF 2015 in Seoul builds on last year’s event and consists of a series of activities, including: direct student recruitment, B2B meetings with agents and school representatives, public presentations, workshops, market briefing and networking receptions. During this two-day long fair, visitors will be able to meet one-on-one with Canadian institution representatives, attend presentation sessions and learn more about the educational opportunities in Canada. A professional PR firm will be hired to ensure maximum exposure for the event, as well as to attract highly qualified visitors that are seriously considering studying abroad.
Market Overview:
Korea is the 3rd largest source of international students in Canada, and has been in the top 3 for more than ten years. While the local economy, exchange rates and government policies are changing rapidly and currently present challenges to Korea's international education market, young Koreans continue to be interested in international education opportunities. Many students and parents are interested in opportunities to study abroad, and there remain significant opportunities for Canadian players to increase their share of this key market.
CEF 2015, Seoul will be an excellent opportunity to showcase the quality of Canadian educational institutions and help Korean students and parents understand what they can achieve by choosing Canada as a study destination. We hope to see you in Korea in November of 2015!

Further to the Brand Use Eligibility Policy jointly established by Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Canada (DFATD) and the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC), K-12 schools, post-secondary education institutions and language schools are invited to consult the provincial lists of eligible institutions on the Brand extranet at http://www.imagine.cmec.ca/en/zone/
If the institution is on the list, it is eligible to participate to the event. If it is not on the list, it is not eligible to participate unless there is clear and written consent of the province/territory where the institution is located.
In order to avoid processing delays, Canadian brand eligible institutions are requested to register for education promotion events using their business/legal name, as it appears on the respective provincial/territorial brand eligibility list.
Private schools authorized to use the curriculum of a province/territory outside of Canada are eligible to participate in the event as sponsors but will be positioned separately (in a non-branded area).
Banks, airlines and insurance companies offering services to students may participate as sponsors and will be situated in the non-branded area.
Education or immigration agents are not eligible to participate in the event, with the sole exception of agents designated by an eligible institution. In that case, agents are responsible to the institution that engaged their services and must adhere to all event guidelines and agent policy
