Vivien grew up in multicultural Vancouver and was inspired to learn more about the world from a young age. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a minor in Commerce at the University of British Columbia while pursuing international opportunities. During her degree, Vivien completed an internship in Taiwan leading youth camps, an academic exchange at the National University of Singapore and a security studies research seminar in Ethiopia. Passionate about intercultural experiences, she proceeded to work as an English teacher in rural Japan with the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme before joining BCCIE.
Vivien supports both Communications and Programs at BCCIE. She provides assistance in digital marketing and information management to support BCCIE’s key projects such as the Annual Summer Conference and Northern Initiatives. As well, she is responsible for IT and vendor management. Vivien enjoys the entire process of travel from planning and getting lost to documenting on her hobby travel blog. When she is not researching where to explore next, she is looking for new DIY projects to try.
