Originally from Seattle, Maya moved to Vancouver to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of British Columbia. During her time at UBC, Maya worked with UBC Jump Start to help implement a two-week orientation program for incoming international students. After graduation, Maya began working as the Program Assistant for the UBC Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program; a scholarship that supports academically-gifted and community-focused students from sub-Saharan Africa.
Maya is the Coordinator, Programs and Events at BCCIE. She coordinates a wide array of special events, professional development events, incoming and outgoing delegations, missions, seminars, market support initiatives and other special activities in support of the mission of BCCIE. She works closely with the Communications Team and other members of BCCIE to provide ongoing support and administration of the Study in BC website, BC Study Abroad website and accompanying social media platforms. Maya enjoys travelling, visiting her family in Seattle and almost anything related to food and fitness.
