BCCIE’s pilot mentorship program began in 2013. Paired by common interests and goals, our mentors guided their mentees into new phases of their careers, helped their mentees meet key contacts in the international education sector, and provided support and guidance in various other capacities. The BCCIE Mentorship Program is a 10-month program that runs from September through June.

Why the BCCIE Mentorship Program?

The goal of the BCCIE Mentorship Program is to enhance the BC tradition of the exchange of best practices between generations and cultures of international education professionals. Our program is unique in that it offers mentoring across the international education sector (including K-12, Post-Secondary and Language) as opposed to within an organization or between professor and student.

To learn more about the program, please view our video below.

You can participate in the BCCIE Mentorship Program in two different ways:

  1. Formal program
The formal program gives mentors and mentees a structure for their collaboration. The formal program has a few more requirements for participants to fulfill than the self-directed program.
  2. Self-directed program
A complement to the formal program, the self-directed program allows mentors and mentees a more flexible schedule and is ideal for those residing in different cities.
